TWIN CITIES AND FRENCH HISTORY
St. Paul, Minnesota, boasts a cultural heritage deeply rooted in French exploration and settlement during the 17th century. The city's history is marked by the influence of French fur traders and settlers, who left an indelible mark on its economy and culture. Despite the transfer of control to the British in 1763, St. Paul continued to embrace and preserve its French traditions. French-Canadian fur trappers and traders played a pivotal role in shaping the city's identity. Today, St. Paul's architecture, street names, and cultural events reflect this rich French history, creating a unique and vibrant tapestry that celebrates the enduring legacy of French culture in the heart of the Midwest.
VISUAL IDENTITY
The Visual Identity pays homage to french hand lettering and signage of old. The color palette is inspired by French Luxury brands, as well as the Night Lights that can be seen in the Northern Sky connected to the Location. The Green is reserved to be used in the patisserie that stays open all day, while the Boreales Bleu is reserved for the branding of the Bar which opens in the evening. The LB monogram is a merging of the Boreales Bar and Letiole Patisserie, and can be used as a textural element that floats between and unifies both spaces.
LETIOLE PATISSERIE PACKAGE DESIGN
The Package design is identifyable by its destinct use of green. All boxes and bags make use of the L’Etiole Verte on the outside, while being paired with the green William Morris design, combining aspects of french tradition, and organic nature of French Nouveau.
